Coming from an artistic French milieu, Rachel restores paintings and painted objects with the precision of a conservator and the sensitivity of an artist.
Trained in Florence at the Università Internazionale delle Arti, she absorbed the Italian mastery of light and transparency, later enriched by the elegance of French classicism and the technical rigour of the Dutch and Flemish Golden Ages. Today, her atelier in Amsterdam, with an annex in Nice, forms a bridge between four great traditions, Italian, French, Flemish, and Dutch, where each restoration is carried out with deep respect for the artist’s technique, pigments, and spirit.
Her work unites science and emotion: microscopic analysis of pigments and varnishes, understanding of historical materials, and an intuitive grasp of artistic gesture. From early Renaissance tempera to modern acrylics, every project becomes a dialogue between time and light.

Expertise & Experience

Rachel began her professional formation in 1996 in Florence, surrounded by the world’s greatest masterpieces. She took part in major restoration projects at the Museo Santa Maria Novella and other Florentine institutions.
Her career led her to Mexico City, where she joined the Museo Nacional de Antropología e Historia, and to Berlin, where she specialised in the restoration of Russian icons.
In Amsterdam, she collaborated on ceiling paintings by Gerard de Lairesse and Jacob de Wit, and restored works by Ferdinand Bol, Govert Flinck, and Jan Miense Molenaer…
In 2023, she contributed to the restoration of large-scale frescoes at the Prince’s Palace of Monaco.
Active since 1998, she continues to work with museums, foundations, art dealers, and private collectors between Amsterdam and Nice, two cities that embody her dual artistic heritage of northern precision and Mediterranean luminosity.

“Restoration is a dialogue between two artists, one living, one from another time.
In the silence of the atelier, each painting reveals its secrets: the rhythm of a brushstroke, the transparency of a glaze, the tremor of an original gesture.
To restore is to listen to the pigments, to the matter, to the history that breathes beneath the surface.
It is a practice suspended between science and soul: where chemistry meets intuition, and technique serves emotion.
My role is not to erase time, but to honor it to preserve the memory of the painter’s hand and allow the artwork to recover its light, its voice, and its dignity.”
